How Does BLPRS Work?
Part of the blast energy is diverted away from the foot, redirecting the shock wave sideways.
The residual energy is absorbed and mitigated by the special design of the sole and its integrated protective element, reducing the shock load on the leg.
BLPRS is protection that does not stop the blast, but rather redirects and dampens it.
The sole and the ground act as the foundation off which the wave rebounds.
An explosion is the outward movement of energy.
The task of the footwear is to redirect the blast sideways, dampen the energy, and save the foot.

The boots are designed specifically to be used as infantry footwear. In terms of weight, they are comparable to standard rubber work boots equipped with a protective toe cap and an anti-puncture insole.
2. Full Foot Protection
The protective element covers the entire area of the foot, unlike some similar footwear models where it is present only in the heel section.
3. Injury Reduction
Studies conducted by a group of doctors from the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) demonstrated that the injury rate from an explosion in BLPRS footwear is significantly lower compared to standard, unreinforced footwear.
4. Infection Barrier
The protective element prevents dirt from penetrating inside the boot during an explosion. This prevents infection, which significantly facilitates the subsequent medical treatment of the wounded.
5. Nature of Fractures
During tests using the reinforced boot, the only bone that fractured was the calcaneus (heel bone). In contrast, standard footwear resulted in additional trauma to the talus bone, making treatment significantly more difficult.
6. Preservation of Bone Fragments
In the reinforced footwear, bone fragments remain larger and hold together. This is opposed to unreinforced footwear, where bones shatter into a much larger number of tiny fragments, which drastically worsens the prognosis for limb recovery.
7. Scientific Validation
The effectiveness of the footwear is backed by medical reports, the repeatability of the results has been proven, and the findings are officially documented. No other existing model in the world has undergone such comprehensive research.
8. Prospects for Standardization
Based on the obtained data, a standard for testing the effectiveness of protective footwear will be developed. This will allow for mandatory laboratory control tests prior to procurement.
